August 29th, 2013
Well, officially release day is September 1st, but there have already been reports of What Was Left spottings in Gleebooks in Glebe and Readings in Carlton. I’m so thrilled that there are copies on the shelves but by far the most rewarding thing is having people read the book and tell me what they thought of it.
I know that the feedback will not always be positive, but it is wonderful to hear it start conversations about things which we don’t speak enough about. The way that the things we love can hurt us, the fragile identity of motherhood and the lies which we tell our loved ones to protect them. There have been a few reviews which have been really positive so far, one here and this gorgeous one which is on the Readings website.
Best of all there are the events lined up this month and next:
Launch – Friday 6 September 6pm at Berkelouw Books Paddington
Author Talk – Tuesday 17 September 7pm at Margaret Martin Library Randwick
Debut Mondays – Monday 21 October 6pm I’ll be speaking with other debut authors at the Wheeler Centre in Melbourne
I hope to see you there!
